Literatura is a Slovenian monthly literary magazine, published since 1989. It publishes prose, poetry, literary criticism, and essays.

Through the redesign, the magazine gained a new format: each section is based on its own grid, and each issue features a different cover created by Slovenian visual artists, along with a color scheme inherent to the cover. This year’s covers featured a younger generation of Slovenian photographers.


The magazine uses visual material only in interviews, film essays, and book critiques, so the majority of its content consists of text. The new design is therefore informed by historical art practices that interpret text as image or as an art form, such as concrete poetry and Dadaism.
